Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Unmistakably a contemporary hotel given its scale, the Grand Californian is no less significant thanks to its undeniable precision and attention to detail. Wood carvings and flourishes, stained glass, and natural stones transform an otherwise mega-resort into a homey, craftsman wonder. Reminiscent of lodges at Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks, the hotel is so well designed and detailed that surely even Greene and Greene would be impressed. (2018)
