Fullerton Library Hunt Branch

Only recently rediscovered by architectural lovers, the Hunt Branch was long a lost masterpiece. At the bare minimum, the building is an integrated column-roof structure, and interspaced floor-to-ceiling windows. Just about as futuristic as any building found in Southern California, the library is not only reminiscent of the Case Study Home program, but also of midcentury dreams of space exploration. The building seemingly floats above the surrounding landscape. Perhaps this was intentional, after all, the knowledge a library contains is the enlightenment of humankind. (2019)
