Regrettably some of the original features of the park have been replaced by more modern amenities, there is still plenty to explore in the park. The recreation center, completed in a Spanish revival style appears more boutique hotel or winery than a public recreation center. The stone walkways, planters, and retaining walls also lend a very natural, earthy tone to the park. Many of the original improvements were built under the Works Progress Administration, so it should not be a surprise the park takes on the feeling and aura of a National Park. (2017)
